Parish Life Ministries
Parish Life includes interaction within our parish to build our community in a variety of ways.
The Hospitality Committee
is in charge of hospitality and the refreshments at parish functions. It enlists the help of parishioners and delegates the responsibility of individual functions to willing volunteers. Cook, serve, clean-up as part of a team for various functions or providing baked goods.

Coffee Hour Hosts and Hostesses
periodically volunteer to be in charge of a coffee hour after either the 8:00 am or 10:00 am services on Sundays. The supplies are at the church and instructions are on the cupboard doors in the kitchen and in the Guild Room. The person in charge may bring milk for coffee and goodies to share. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the hall.

Salt Shakers
is an adult fellowship group (not just couples) which is divided into subgroups of eight. These sub-groups meet four times during the year at each other's homes for a potluck dinner and fellowship. It is a wonderful way to get to know different parishioners.

Pepper Grinders
is an adjunct to the Salt Shakers for families, singles and youth, providing an opportunity to get together in an informal, "come as you are" setting. They enjoy some play time and a (G-rated) movie for the kids; food, laughs and some old-fashioned conversation for harried parents and other adults. They follow the same format as the Salt Shakers, rotating homes and dishes.

Music on the Hill (MOTH)
is a community series of chamber music concerts which was begun in 1973. Each year, four concerts are held at St. Luke's at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoons. Children are encouraged to attend free of charge with their families.

The New Member Committee
welcomes newcomers and helps them to feel at home at St. Luke's. They get in touch with people who have signed the Guest Book, called the church office, or whose name is given to them. Newcomer packets are available in the rack in the hall. Twice a year the committee sponsors a Newcomer gathering to provide a more relaxed opportunity for meeting and talking with the clergy and other parishioners.
